This week I will be catching up on a couple of CRJ entries ,researching for and focusing on the Oral Assignment.I feel my WIP is in good order but will carry on shooting where I can with my FMP in mind.
I’d like to finally get my dummy fanzine printed and set in motion a date to actually present my workshop,I’m keeping in touch and liaseing with the Working Mens Clubs that will be playing a large role in my project moving forward and hopefully that date will not be too far away,in the meantime I’m again liasing with them to start shooting , introducing myself and assimilating into the group.I feel it will be immersive and quite a collaborative affair for the next few months.I’m looking forward to that process.
I plan to research more artists who re-use found photography, oral history and projections as these are all relatively new practices to me that will play a big part in the final outcome.
I need to make a journey to my dads house also to rephotograph the photographic prints he as kept that I will be using as part of the final imagery.
I was heavily influenced by Mark Lecky when he showed his work O’ MAGIC POWER OF BLEAKNESS at Tate Britain earlier this year, his use of sound, installation and projected imagery will to some extent be a factor in how I show my work.
I’ve been reading Not just Beer and Bingo a book by Ruth Cherrington which whilst being a bit fact based at times does give a decent insight into the history of WMC as well some written memories of those that use them. It’s a subject that as not been written about much.
I’m very much looking forward to this next few months and especially look forward to utilising all the new ideas and skills learnt on the MA so far.
